This guy is just plain stupid. The credit card processing industry is one of the hardest call center jobs in the world. It is also super competitive. His giving 70 grand to every employee sent out all the wrong messages. If I was going to use a  credit card processing company, the last one I would consider is one that can afford to pay that kind of minimum wage.

His own brother is suing him for squandering the seed money he invested and rightfully so.

It is one thing to make money by making your client MORE money, but this is simply a service and his customers should be red-faced over paying out too much money for the service.

One thing the media doesn't address, is the pathetic feeling the salespeople must have got when they found out the people doing the easy work were getting paid far more than they deserve, which rightfully belonged in the pockets of those who generated the sales.

Then you have the problem of how to "money-motivate" those who would bust their ass to make enough sales to get 70 grand.

I predicted it was an insane move when he announced it and it seems I was right.

"But things haven't gone smoothly at Gravity Payments, a credit card processing company. Several months ago CEO and majority owner Dan Price announced he would increase—in stages—the company's minimum wage to $70,000. When news first spread, his move was celebrated as an inspiring example of enlightened capitalism, doing well by doing good.
Then came the backlash. Conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh blasted the new pay scheme as "pure, unadulterated socialism." Some customers left, either unhappy with what they saw as Price's political agenda or worried that the added costs would be passed on to them."

Is there anything which is good that Rush Limbaugh doesn't want to destroy?
